Periodization Overview

Week 1: General Preparation

Focus: Build the aerobic engine. Don’t skimp on fitness in Week 1.

Monday: Aerobic base run (30 min at 70% max HR) + individual juggling and first touch

Tuesday: Rondo progressions (4v1 → 6v2) + position-specific technical work

Wednesday: Rest or yoga/flexibility

Thursday: High-intensity aerobic intervals (8 × 2 min on / 1 min off) + finishing

Friday: Full-sided game with one restriction (e.g., two-touch limit)

Weeks 2–5: (Follow same structure, increasing tactical complexity and game speed each week)

Week 6: Taper

●Reduce volume by 30%
●Maintain intensity (full game speed on all activities)
●No new information — reinforce existing patterns
●Focus on confidence and team cohesion

Tracking Metrics

●Sprint speed (40-yard dash)
●Technical test: 1 min juggling count
●Fitness: Yo-Yo test score
●Team satisfaction survey (simple 1-10 rating)
